The Siggiewi local council will be appealing a decision taken by Mepa and parliamentary secretary Michael Falzon to remove the Ta’ Dmejrek site from being an area of ecological importance, a buffer zone and an area of natural beauty.
In a meeting hastily convened this morning, the council said Dr Falzon accepted Mepa’s proposal in August and the decision was made public in the Government Gazette.
