Ivan Bartolo, founder and CEO of 6PM was recently conferred the honoris causa degree Doctor of the University by Middlesex University.
The Academic Board of Middlesex University awards honorary degrees in recognition of the recipient's commitment to social, economic and national causes, and support for cultural diversity. Comprehensive policies and stringent evaluation criteria guide the university's decision in approving all honorary degrees, which ensures that Honorary Degrees are awarded to individuals who make exceptional contributions to their profession, community or directly to the university.
During the graduation ceremony held in Malta, Mr Bartolo was presented as a candidate for the degree for his contribution to the Maltese IT sector through 6PM. Recognising his contribution in the development of products that are making a tangible difference in the NHS and other global hospitals as well as in building an international company, Middlesex University conferred the honorary doctorate degree.
Speaking on the conferment of this honorary degree, Mr Bartolo said:
"I am honoured to be given this award from Middlesex University, a university with such heritage and specialisation in science, technology and health. This award came as a real surprise, totally unexpected. I will use this honorary doctorate to continue to challenge, encourage and inspire students and employees to excel and do well in their studies and future careers."
