The Labour Party today chastised Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil for trusting PN MP Claudio Grech with drafting the party’s economic policy rather than taking action against him for “lying” about meeting rogue oil trader George Farrugia.
Dr Busuttil announced yesterday that he has instructed Mr Grech to draft a document highlighting the party’s economic vision.
In a statement the PL said that during his “negative and destructive” speech, Dr Busuttil said he was going to reward Mr Grech instead of taking action against him. Mr Grech, it said, was caught lying before the country’s highest institution.
The PL said it had become something normal for Dr Busuttil to say one thing and act differently. He speaks on honest politics and then does the opposite. That is why people do not take him seriously, the PL said.
