The Nationalist Party Youth movement is, by means of the letter below, drawing the attention of the President of the European Parliament, Mr. Martin Schulz, on the unfortunate ongoing political issues concerning Malta in relation to the PanamaPapers scandal, outlining its and the general public's concerns.

With the local and the international media dominated by surreal facts and revelations on the complete absence of accountability, transparency and any shred of truth in the Government's reaction - or indeed lack of it - in view of the largest scandal to ever hit our shores, MZPN is calling on the highest institution of the European Union to stand by its values of good governance and democratic credentials and flag these concerns.

As MZPN stood with the Opposition against the Government's corrupt practices yesterday in the national demonstration in the capital city, it will also stand with the citizens of Malta who demand that political responsibility be shouldered by those who have run our nation's reputation through the mud. We have taken this stand as it seems that others lack the courage and integrity to stand up for what is ultimately right and just.
