Oxygenation not indignation

People from all over the globe flock to our beautiful islands for regeneration, revitalisation, rejuvenation.

They come to us, in droves, seeking to immerse themselves in the enchanting complex combination of ingredients that make this navel of the Mediterranean, this simmering cauldron of ancient civilisations, so exceptionally unique.

Of all the outstanding beauties in the world, they pick tiny Malta and Gozo, time and time again, for the enriching perfect balance they know, these fascinating rocks can effortlessly restore to them.

The balance between natural beauty and a rich history stubbornly cast in stone is positively invigorating.

Then there is the captivating, never ending calendar of layers of colourful, cultural activities, that challenge the mind, stimulate the soul and spice up the lives.

So many people find our enticing crystal clear waters, so treacherous at times, balmy at others, humble yet home to ancient relics of all kinds, justifiably irresistible.

Then there are the shady coves, the incredibly appealing rocky beaches and our lazy stretches of sleepy golden sands...

Our islands are an infinite treasure throve confined to this little , painfully definite  space.

We are a lucky lot to have been born in this magic bounty, where people come because they know they can safe ly get their relaxation,  securely do business or  serenely find their fulfilment.

Yet in this place of relaxation there is underlying indignation.

Indignation of the local population for different, even diametrically opposite reasons but with a glaring common denominator.

We love our country.

We are proud of what we have achieved as a nation,

we want to keep and improve what we have and we will not forfeit the headway we have made.

We will not let anybody destroy our hard-earned way of life.

We might disagree as to who can accomplish and ensure what, but we surely agree that uniting  as a people for the present and future of our children, rising above tribal politics , doing away with the rhetoric of hatred and turning indignation into oxygenation of our political landscape is the recipe for sure success.

Therefore, while we actively play our part in  softening  and countering the blows our land is repeatedly suffering as the result of  the boundless greed manifested by some people in power, I am confident that our country will emerge victorious. Our people, through this ongoing sad experience will emerge united and excited about real political change which will ultimately deliver and live up to their expectations.
