The Nationalist Party pledged to work hard to strengthen Malta’s financial services sector which, leader Simon Busuttil said, has been weakened by the Panama Papers scandal.

Dr Busuttil was speaking during a visit he made to Deloitte company in Mriehel, which employs 400 people in the sector.

Apart from the Panama Papers scandal, the sector was being hit by a number of difficulties such as pressure coming from the European Union to alter regulations governing financial services.
