Busy Bee will be investing €6 million in a new Mriehel factory. The project will see the company’s 150-strong workforce increase by another 70 employees.
The project was announced during a press conference addressed by Economy Minister Chris Cardona, who thanked the company on behalf of the government for sending a strong message of confidence in Maltese workers and the local market but also in the direction the country’s economy is heading in.
Dr Cardona said today’s announcement followed several other investments announced in the past few days, including at Playmobil, the Aviation Park, Methode, BMIT and Ablecare at the Maritime Hub.
The economy minister said several other investments will be announced shortly. This was a result of the reciprocal relationship that now exists between business people, workers and the government. He urged all parties to keep up the momentum.
Dr Cardona referred to the latest Moody’s report, which said the Maltese economy had well exceeded its expectations and that the economy would still be growing by around 4% this year.
