Nico the Parrot has made his first choice for the Euro 2016 championships, a game that will be contested between hosts France and Romania.

The Malta Independent has once again chosen the African grey parrot at Pet Market of Naxxar to find out whether its “skills” are intact two years down the line after doing a good job two years ago for the World Cup finals held in Brazil.

Once again, The Malta Independent states that this “prediction exercise” is just a game, an idea to enhance interest in the championships and a way to create some discussion. There are no tricks, no conspiracy theories and no manipulation – Nico might guess the outcome of all the games, and we will be happy if it does it, and it might not get one right, and we will still be happy.

The exercise is to add some fun to the competition. Nothing more, nothing less.
