ACCA collaborates with Deloitte Malta and AIM Professional Academy

Last Monday Deloitte Malta launched the new ACCA-X online courses locally.Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Head of Business Development for Europe & North America, Mr. Abdul Goffar from ACCA introduced the ACCA-X online courses, while Maria Fenech Attard, Director of Studies from AIM Professional Academy, emphasised the importance of attracting younger audiences to apply for ACCA courses.  Finance Minister Edward Scicluna inaugurated the event.

Deloitte Malta is proud of its collaboration with the internationally renowned body ACCA. This collaboration will offer students the unique possibility of obtaining an 'O' level and 'A' level equivalent in Accounts through two 10-week online courses, thus opening a world of career opportunities. De La Salle College, Cottonera, has already joined the collaboration with a pilot project, starting next month, which will see a group of around 40 Fourth Form students studying online for the qualification. Students will be able to follow the courses at their own pace, from the comfort of their homes, and review their progress as they move from one module to the next, with the added support of online discussions with professionals.

This online programme has the potential to revolutionise our approach to education by acting as revision for those working on their 'O' and 'A' level Accountancy, as well as offering the opportunity to those pursuing other subject choices to add Accountancy to their CVs, and therefore giving them a broader career base.

Sarah Curmi, Deloitte Malta Audit Business Leader said, "As the professional services industry expands and develops, we are constantly seeking to attract students to the finance sector. The ACCA-X online courses offers a solid foundation to students wishing to continue their studies in accounts."

Persons or schools interested in the ACCA-X online courses, may apply online at www.acca-x.com/deloitte-malta. Online tuition is free of charge, however a registration fee of £20 applies and examination fees are of €60 per exam (two exams are required for each course). For further information one may contact Mr. David Muscat at [email protected]. Applications for the July intake of ACCA-X online courses are open until 4 July 2016.
