Post-budget vox-pop: Complaints about traffic, construction tax and excise duty on toiletries

Tuesday, 18 October 2016, 15:21 Last update: about 11 years ago

The general feeling after the budget 2017 presentation is that although the government has tackled issues concerning low-wage earners and pensioners, in some cases people who work harder than others are at a disadvantage because they will not be entitled to some of the benefits.

There were also complaints that not enough was done to address traffic issues. The excise duty introduced on toiletries did not go down well while the tax on construction material has been interpreted as a way for property prices to increase.
