Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil said that the year which is about to end was worrying” as events that took place here in Malta and abroad were unexpected. “What we used to take for granted is no longer certain,” he says in his Christmas message.
In a video shot in his home in Lija, where he said he and his partner Kristina share their stories, Dr Busuttil said that he questions whether the education system is preparing youngsters for life. Will our children grow into responsible adults holding sound values? This is the true politics – what we experience every day and what we could do to make things better.
He said that Christmas should bring unity to all, because the values of Christmas are love, hope and solidarity.
He said that the family, in its different forms, remains an important pillar of society as it is the place where values are learnt, where we learn to keep our promises and where we learn to help others in need.
