Prime Minister Joseph Muscat held a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, following other meetings he held with EU leaders, where the two spoke about migration.

Discussions also focused on the treaty of Rome celebrations at the end of the month. Prime Minister Muscat said that Europe must have a strong social function, where it does not solely look at the economy, but also on the quality of family life.

 This, he said, will be the focus of discussion regarding the EU's future. He also called the European Commission's White Paper positive.
