Four former England international players lost all their composure on Wednesday night as Barcelona scored a sixth goal to overturn a 4-0 first leg deficit to eliminate Paris St Germain from the Champions League.
It was an unprecedented feat – no other team, before Barcelona, had managed to qualify to the following round after a 4-0 defeat in the first leg.
Barcelona did it, and the four international players – turned presenters and pundits for BT Sport – screamed, shouted and ran around the studio when the sixth goal arrived with the last shot of the game.
Gary Lineker, himself a former Barcelona player, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, and Michael Owen, who played for both Liverpool and United, could not contain themselves.
"I'm speechless we were running around the studio here," Ferdinand said later.
"The way they pulled it back even after conceding a goal - the character, the nerve I've never witnessed anything like that!"
