An Air Malta passenger was surprised to find a cockroach on the seat next to hers on a flight from the UK.

The woman wrote about her experience on Facebook: “Had a very interesting flight back to UK … accompanied by a huge cockroach by my seat! Luckily a heroic passenger killed it with the newspaper of another passenger and my calm was restored.”

The crew and personnel of Airmalta were “brilliant,” the woman said, and even offered her a free coffee.

Her sister also took to the social media to write about the experience. “Breaking news: stowaway killed on Air Malta flight to Heathrow this morning. No, not a human. A cockroach! On the seat right next to my sister. Only in Malta,” she wrote.
