Minister without portfolio Konrad Mizzi has denied taking any kickbacks, or that funds related to bribes were transferred into his Panama company Hearnville Inc.

Sources have told this newsroom that a120-page report with damning evidence on Dr Mizzi and Mr Schembri is under lock and key within the FIAU awaiting conclusion. The Malta Independent has seen extracts of this damning report that shows how investigations by the unit revealed that there were two attempts to transfer money to 17 Black from Orion Engineering group (a company registered at the same address and having the same involved parties as Armada Floating Gas Services Malta Ltd). The Malta Independent has said that it will make the leaked information available to the inquiring Magistrate.

Minister Mizzi, in a statement said that "the co-ordinated story published by The Malta Independent is a blatant lie. It represents the latest attempt by Busuttil to win an election via the back-door of fear and smear."

He said that the allegation of alleged kickbacks and the allegation that funds related to bribes were transferred into Hearnville Inc are blatant lies.

Minister Mizzi says that Hearnville Inc. never held a bank account in Dubai or elsewhere, from its inception to the day it was liquidated. "Hence, the company never received any funds from any sources," he said.
