Police Commissioner Lawrence Cutajar was given a rousing welcome as he arrived on St George’s Square packed with Labour Party supporters waiting for the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat after Labour won the 2017 election pn Saturday.

Cutajar was one of the controversial figures in the run-up to the campaign, as the Nationalist Party accused him of not taking action as details emerged linked to alleged corruption scandals involving the Prime Minister and his wife.
