The cabinet includes old faces, such as Chris Fearne, Konrad Mizzi and Carmelo Abela, as well as new ones, like Julia Farrugia and Clint Camilleri.

Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat gave comments to the media in which he said that this new cabinet will face very different challenges to their predecessors.

He said the focus in the first legislature was to strengthen the economy saying that his government had to face rising numbers in unemployment, high utility tariffs and economic growth which was stagnant.

Muscat said that the government also needs to look into making processes less bureaucratic and special attention to the social housing sector needs to be drawn.
