A video of the crash involving a Maltese driver in Sicily last Sunday shows the car skidding on the road before hitting by-standers on the side.
Eight persons who were watching the motorsport rally in Piedimonte in Sicily were injured when the car, driven by Ryan Mangion, hit them at around 11.30am.
Two of them were seriously injured and underwent surgery. Their condition is reported to be stable by Italian media this morning.
