Beppe Fenech Adami ordered to remove illegalities on ODZ land – PL

The Labour Party has labelled the opposition as unreliable in matters pertaining to the protection of the environment after a report that MP Beppe Fenech Adami has been forced to remove illegalities on his property.

L-Orizzont today reported that Fenech Adami has been ordered by the Planning Authority to remove development carried out in ODZ land.

Last year Fenech Adami had denied suggestions that former Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi had offered him special treatment by allowing his Gharghur home to be extended beyond the two-storey limit. Fenech Adami later won €3,000 in damages for defamatory libel from One News over a TV bulletin about his property in Gharghur.

“Even though Fenech Adami won his libel, for which there is an appeal, no legal issues can undo the fact that neither Beppe Fenech Adami and much less the PN is credible enough to talk about protecting ODZ areas,” the PL stated in a press release today.

“Fenech Adami is not the only deputy who acted in contrast to what PN was saying about ODZ land and there has been no form of condemnation of the leadership of the PN.”

“Thus, PN is unreliable when it says they want to protect the environment,” it concluded.
