A man was seriously injured this morning after he fell four storeys in Hamrun, the police said.

The accident took place in Sewwieqa Street at 10am.

The 23-year-old Syrian, who resides in Tarxien, fell while working on a construction site.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Magistrate Francesco Depasquale is leading an inquiry.
