Bishop Silvester Carmel Magro, former vicar of Benghazi, passes away

Bishop Silvester Carmel Magro, who served as the Apostolic Vicar of Benghazi in Libya from 1997 until 2016, has passed away.

Magro, who was born in Rabat, Malta on 14 February 1941, died at age 76 on Saturday 20 January at around 2.20am.

The funeral for late Bishop Silvester Carmel Magro will occur on 22 January at Mdina Cathedral. Mass will be led by the Archbishop.

The funeral for late Bishop Emanuel Barbara will take place on 27 January at 2pm, at Mdina Cathedral. Mass will also be led by the Archbishop.
