A woman was injured this morning when a tin of paint was blown off a truck being driven in Cirkewwa, the police said.

The Polish 40-year-old woman was walking on the promenade when the tin of paint which was being transported on the back of an open truck flew off, hitting her.

She was accompanied by her husband, who was unhurt. The woman was slightly injured and under shock, and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

The truck was being driven by a 50-year-old Gozitan who was on his way to catch the ferry to the sister island when the accident happened at 11.20am.
