The main reason as to why the Park and Ride service for the Gozo General Hospital was stopped was due to the service not being used by the public in general and hospital staff, Health Minister Chris Fearne said.

PN MP Chris Said asked the minister, through a Parliamentary Question, to provide a reason as to why the service was no longer being provided, and also asked whether tenders for the Park and Ride were issued or whether direct orders were given.

Minister Fearne said that the transport service that had been provided came after a call for quotes, where the lowest offer from three, which conformed with the exigencies of the job, was picked.
