No new bus/priority lanes in the pipeline

There are no new bus/priority lanes in the pipeline for Maltese roads, Minister for Transport Ian Borg said today.

In a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Toni Bezzina, Borg was asked whether the government has plans to introduce new bus lanes in localities throughout Malta and Gozo, as well as to present a list of all planned locations.

However, Borg replied that no new bus/priority lanes are planned to be introduced at the moment.

There are currently only eight bus/priority lanes in Malta, Borg also informed this evening.  The existing lanes are doung in the following locations:

Marsa - Aldo Moro (Northbound)

Marsa - Aldo Moro (Southbound)

Msida - Triq ix-Xatt

Pieta'- Triq Marina- shared space

Floriana - Triq Nazzjonali & Triq Sarria

Gzira - Triq ix-Xatt

Sliema - Triq ix-Xatt

Balta l-Bahjda, Bombi - Triq Nazzjonali & Triq l-Indipendenza.
