Four men were arrested by the police this morning in connection with the placing of a bomb beneath a car in Fgura earlier this year.

The incident had taken place on 4 January. The bomb had not exploded.

Today’s operation took place after weeks of investigation which led the police to the four men.

The operation is still ongoing in other parts of Malta.

Three of the four arrested men are from Birzebbuga, the other from Xghajra.

The car belonged to Mario Scicluna, a Gozitan from Sannat, who resides in the area.

The car, a Mitsubishi Pajero, was parked at a residential area in St Anthony's Street.
