During a Press Conference held recently it was announced that Masters Football is increasing its popularity and achieved a great success since it was established. Mario Meli the founder and President of the association stated that Masters Football is attracting more well-known players who are determined to continue playing after they retire.
Mario Meli said that last season was a success all the way. Both championships, Premier and Division One offered interesting high-level competitions, only decided in the last games. The association besides the leagues organise other competitions such as the Knock Out and Super Cup.
The success achieved by the association is being noted and the sponsors offered a more generous amount. It also announced that its relationship with the Malta Football Association is good. Mr. Meli thanked MAPFRE MSV Life and Farsons being the main sponsors and also thanked the other sponsors JC Sammut, Zmerc Pub and Office Group.

Mr. Michael Galea, Chief Officer Business Development at MAPFRE MSV Life said that they are delighted to confirm their sponsorship for the sixth consecutive season. The company is committed to contribute within the Maltese communities and Sport is one of the key areas that they support
Mr. Galea congratulated the committee of Masters football for their efforts to increase the popularity and that MAPFRE is contributing towards promoting the sport. It was also announced that the company will once again be giving the PLAYER OF THE MONTH award being an added motivation to the players.
Mr Karl Bondin, Farsons representative, was unable to attend, but he sent a message confirming the sponsorship again for the second successive season. Farsons also made a generous increase in their sponsorship. Mr. Bondin said that the company is satisfied to help an association which is registering success and congratulated the dedicated members of the committee.

Mr. Robert Micallef CEO of OFFICE GROUP said that they are delighted to sponsor for the second consecutive season the Knock Out competition. Mr. Micallef congratulated Masters Football in the excellent way they organise their competitions and for giving the chance to retired players to continue playing the game they love and keep themselves in a good physical condition.
Carlo Mamo national team player and coach Charles Agius spoke about the team' success when it finished third in a prestigious tournament in Andorra.
At the end fixtures were drawn for both championships and the Pre-Season Tournament.
