The EU is currently debating whether to end this practice of moving clocks forward and back an hour depending on the time of year.
Last August, The European Commission published the results of an online consultation, which ran from 4 July to 16 August 2018, and received 4.6 million responses from all 28 Member States. The preliminary results showed that 84% of respondents are in favour of putting an end to the bi-annual clock change.
European Union Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is backing calls to ditch the twice-yearly changes to the time following the citizens' consultation, stating that "the people want that, and we will make it happen.
