A pigeon was shot as it flew past a ceremonial shot fired at the Upper Barrakka earlier this week.
Footage, uploaded to the social media by Karl Oliver, shows an artillery soldier firing the antique weapon, a midday tradition.
But just as the gunpowder ignites, a pigeon is seen flying across and getting hit and blown to pieces.
