Birkirkara FC yesterday confirmed that goalkeeper Kristian Naumovski will remain with the club and that he will not be leaving in this January Transfer Market. Naumovski has a contract with the club till the end of this season.

Naumovski joined the Stripes in the January Transfer Market of last year and the towering goalkeeper established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the BOV Premier League. He has played 31 matches so far and managed to keep 12 clean-sheets.

In a club statement yesterday, Michael Valenzia, the club’s technical director, denied reports in some media that Naumovski was leaving the club this month.

Naumovski also confirmed his stay. “I will stay here. I have a contract with Birkirkara FC and I will stay. Birkirkara FC is my home, so for me it comes naturally to feel happy here.”

Earlier this week, the Stripes became the most active club in the January transfer market after concluding some important deals.

They acquired Johan Bezzina from Hibernians as a replacement for the void being left by the departure of Paul Fenech to Balzan, while they also acquired the services of striker Jorge Pereira, formerly of Hibernians and Gzira United.
