Monday, 21 January 2019, 13:21 Last update: about 7 years ago

A website 'Know Your Rights', launched today, aims to empower persons with disability to guide them on their rights and also for the general public to become more aware of these rights.

Speaking at the Launch of the Online Platform 'Know Your Rights' at a Qawra hotel this morning, project adviser Therese Comodini Cachia, an MP, explained the work behind the website 'www.know-ur-rights.com' which was designed to be accessible for people with physical disability, mental health issues and learning difficulties.

She explained that each section is provided with a video with clear subtitles and offers the choice to watch the video with sign language. The website focuses on a number of areas including education, employment, estate planning and guardianship, healthcare, leisure and sports, abuse and hate crimes and access to justice. Each section provides answers for frequently asked questions and additional contacts responsible to provide professional guidance and information.

The website is a project carried out by Inspire (The Eden and Razzett Foundation) partnered with Richmond Foundation, and is co-financed by the Voluntary Organisation Project Scheme 2018.
