The game that all those following Masters Football have been waiting for, the clash between two giants finished all square, 7-7 a fair result in an entertaining game.
These two clubs possess a good number of top players in the MAPFRE/MSV Life PREMIER LEAGUE, players of great experience. Rain at first made it difficult for the players, but when it stopped the show of great talent began.
Two players distinguished themselves more, Alexander Ribic, scoring three for Marsa and Gareth Sciberras for Desana who scored four. After only one minute Ribic put Marsa ahead with a beutiful goal, but from then on Desana played better, and finished the first half infront 5-3. After the break Desana made it 6-3, and 7-4,but then Marsa came back pressing hard and made it difficult for the opposing defenders. They almost dominated, and managed to score three to get level. These two teams remain favourite as who is going to win the championship. However there is still a long way to go and anything can happen.
In an other game RABAT got three important points when they beat MELITA 8-1. Melita still missing the scoring touch of the injured Michael Galea, disappointed and never settled down. Rabat deserve credit how they improved their game lately. Now they are more competitive, and when Chris Micallef returns from his injury they should be better. Brian Said got the only goal for Melita.
In the only game from the CISK MASTERS DIVISION ONW LEAGUE, NAXXAR got the better of TAL-QROQQ 10-7 in an other entertaining game. May be a draw result woud have been better. Naxxar showed their intentions from the begining and going for the break they lead 3-2. The game remained balanced in the second half. It was only in the last ten minutes that Naxxar scored four consecutive to lead 9-5 and kept control until the end. Tal-Qroqq could not get their best selection as a good number of their plejers are still injured. Their best scorer Carlo Leonardi had a good game but lost too many chances besides being denied by the goalkeeper.
