The Go Global programme, an SME internationalisation and export management course managed by TradeMalta, now has around 120 alumni who have successfully completed the course.
The course is aimed towards providing practical training on the essential skills in managing an international operation. The topics covered during the course's sessions include trade finance, market research, export readiness and forecasting issues. All the lecture sessions are delivered by individuals with academic and/or industry experience.

During the opening session of this year's course, the 20 participants from Malta-based SMEs were treated to a Q&A session with Sam Borg, Director of Bortex Group. Bortex's export journey was recounted and participants were given an opportunity to share their own experiences of entering foreign markets.
Go Global participants also discussed ideas with representatives from other established exporting companies during two panel discussions on the 20th February and the 24th April. The panellists included Matthew Pullicino (CEO, Stargate Studios Malta), Maria Josefa Buhagiar (Director, Josefa Manufacturing), John Schembri (Managing Director, SHIELD Consultants Ltd.), Thresa Atkins (Manager, Strand Palace Agencies Ltd.) and Chris Busuttil Delbridge (Managing Director, Evolve Ltd.).

Towards the end of the course, each participant delivered a presentation detailing their individual export marketing plans. Participants were thus given a chance to showcase their ability to apply what they learnt throughout the course, receiving feedback from academic and industry professionals in the process.
Go Global is organised in collaboration with Malta University Consulting Ltd. and with the support of HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. It is accredited as part of the University of Malta's programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (PLAS).
