Veteran songstress Iris Vella Urso passed away earlier today, just three weeks after celebrating her 80th birthday.
Iris Vella Urso had placed third in the very first edition of the Malta Song Festival back in 1960, which was held at the Radio City Opera House in Hamrun. She was also renowned for entertaining the crowds with her distinctive voice in Pjazza Regina in Valletta.
