A Gozitan man was arrested in a police drug raid in Gozo on Friday, the police said.

The 55-year-old man from Victoria was caught in possession of sachets containing heroin not for his personal use. A search in his residence yielded more sachets, an undisclosed amount of cash and weighing scales.

Magistrate Brigitte Sultana is leading an inquiry.

The police said the man will be arraigned on charges of drug trafficking, aggravated by the fact that the crime was committed close to a place frequented by young people.
