Nathaniel Attard has been removed from his position as communications director for the Nationalist Party (PN), The Malta Independent can confirm.
Reports of Attard's dismissal surfaced on social media on Monday morning. According to reports, Attard was officially informed of his removal on Sunday, September 27.
Contacted by The Malta Independent, Attard would not give any comments.
Attard held the post for just over two years, having originally been appointed in September 2024 under then-PN leader Bernard Grech. He remained in the position following the election of Alex Borg, overseeing the party's communications strategy throughout this year's general election campaign.
Before taking on the director role, Attard served as BirdLife Malta's communications manager from 2016 to 2024. His extensive media career also includes serving as head of news for Media Link Communications, editor of the PN's daily newspaper In-Nazzjon, and working as a newscaster, producer, and presenter on NET Television.
He had succeeded James Aaron Ellul, who transitioned to another party position prior to standing for election.
