A group of immigrants who were disembarked by the Armed Forces of Malta on 7 July and 4 August from the Alan Khurdi, which is operated by the NGO Sea Eye, on Monday departed from Malta to be relocated in France.
The immigrants were assisted by the local authorities, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) authority, and officials from the Embassy of France in Malta.
These relocation processes are the result of an ad hoc agreement struck between the European Commission, Malta, and other EU members states.
