A Syrian man was grievously injured on Thursday when he suffered burns while replacing a gas cylinder.

The accident took place at around 11.20am inside a residence in Triq is-Sibbien, Marsascala, the police said.  

The man, 25, was injured when flames developed as he was changing the gas cylinder.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital. The police are investigating.
