Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk wins Men's Player of the Year after helping his side win the Champions League.
He said: 'First of all, I need to thank all my team-mates. Without all of them, I wouldn't have achieved what I have done over the past year.
'It has been a long road but it's part of my journey and who I am. I am not a player who is 18 years old and had that path straight away. I had to work hard and I am very proud of that. It's all credit to everyone who has helped me along the way.
'I looked up as a young player to Ronaldinho because he had so much joy when playing, it was such a great feeling to watch him play.
'But I think all the people who have helped me along the way, it has been a pleasure.'
UEFA Women's Player of the Year: Lucy Bronze
Lucy Bronze wins UEFA Women's Player of the Year. She couldn't attend but sent a message in.
She said: 'I am very surprised to be accepting it. I am ecstatic and super humble to win it against two fantastic players from Lyon. I want to say a huge thank you to the Lionesses, the Lyon team.
'Both teams for pushing me to make me a better player than I am today.'
Defender of the Season: Virgil van Dijk
Van Dijk on last season's Champions League win: 'I think when the holidays started, I enjoyed every bit of it but this season starts all over again and we want to compete and defend the cup again. It will be tough but we will fight for it and go for it.'

Midfielder of the Season: Frenkie de Jong
He shone last season for Ajax as they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. And the award goes to Frenkie de Jong, now at Barcelona.
On last season's run with Ajax, he said: 'It was an incredible journey last year. We had a good tactical plan and had good players with top quality and if you combine the two, you will have great results.'
