Cafu’s son dies of heart attack, aged 30, while playing football

The son of former Brazilian footballer Cafu died of a heart attack while playing football with friends on Wednesday afternoon, international media report. He was 30 years old.

Cafu’s son, named Danilo, was playing football with some friends near the family’s residence in the San Paolo area when he collapsed.

He was given first aid treatment and rushed to a nearby hospital where he was certified dead.

Cafu, a former Roma and Milan defender, played 142 games for Brazil, and so far is the only player to have played in three consecutive World Cup finals between 1994 and 2002.
