As the saying goes, sometimes a picture tells a story or rather there is a story behind the picture.

It all seems just like a normal competitive football match photographic capture taken during a Malta BOV Premier League match at the National Stadium over the weekend, but it so happens that the Gudja United defender Zach Cassar (forefront), who is being strongly challenged from the back by Santa Lucia's Nick Borg (back) have been best of buddies since their early stages of their football careers and more!

"This is a picture to treasure," stated Gudja and Malta U-21 defender Zach Cassar. "Reminds me of so many things. Myself and Nick (Borg) have been friends since we were 5. But we were not just team mates on the pitch, more than that. We stuck always together, going to school, going out together. And yet here we are in this photo capture fairly challenging each other in a competitive manner. This is why football is called the most beautiful game!"

Both Gudja and Santa Lucia, who are newcomers to Malta's top elite football division have both impressed in their early commitments with the yellows and blues from Santa Lucia notching up 5 points and Gudja 3 points in their first three outings.
