St.Andrew's staged a late rally to save the match against Zejtun and even going close to snatching a dramatic victory. Zejtun surely did not deserve to leave the pitch empty ahnded after dominating the first hour of the game. But Anonam's boys faded out drastically in the last part of the game with the Saints pinning them in their own half.
Zejtun took the lead in their first attempt when a Carabott freekick was not cleared by the Saints' defence and Robeiro Do Nascimento managed to squeeze the ball home from close range.
Zejtun dominated the rest of the first half with the Saints struggling to come to grips with their opponents' direct play. Carabott and Suda on the flanks were very effective stretching the Saints' defence and goalkeeper Grima made a couple of saves to keep his side in the game.
On the resumption the Saints as expected had more of the ball as Zejtun lost some of their composure. The Saints did not create much but managed to level matters on 77 minutes when Kemar Reid drilled home a fine move on the right by substitute Jackson.
