The sixth round of the Bank of Valletta Premier League will get underway this evening when defending champions Valletta will be facing Gzira at the National Stadium (kick-off 7pm).
In the previous round, Valletta had to be content with just a point from a difficult clash against rivals Birkirkara, while Gzira obtained their first seasonal victory, beating Balzan 2-0 with two late strikes.
At present, Valletta are on eight points, together with newly promoted Santa Lucia, three below joint leaders Floriana and Hamrun and two behind Hibernians and Sirens. Gzira are in 7th place on seven points together with Senglea.
Both teams will be eager to win the three points so as to keep the pace with the top clubs.
The Citizens need to return to winning form quickly after having drawn their last two matches against Floriana and Birkirkara. But it will not be an easy match as the Maroons will certainly prove to be no push-overs.
