The Bicycle Advocacy Group has posted a video on its Facebook page, showing a driver driving his car on the bicycle lane on the Hal Far Road.

“We have just been sent this video from one of our members, who was commuting in Triq Ħal Far when he encountered a vehicle driving over the segregated bicycle lane, presumably to overtake the cars driving on the road,” the group said.

“This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, especially when many cyclists are wrongly berated for legally sharing space on the road with cars and are often told to get out of the way.

“This video also strengthens the case for better enforcement, in order to protect all road users. We urge the authorities to take the necessary action so such incidents do not keep repeating themselves.”
