Drivers this morning were forced to drive on the wrong side of the road in Birzebbuga to avoid the deeper end of flooding (see video)
Residents of the area - Ste George's Street - said that the flooding is caused by sea-water, when the tide is high.
They said that "we have been in this situation for years", but although complaints have been raised, nothing has been done to find a solution.
"Cars are always soaked in sea water," one resident said. This causes damage to both the body and the engine.
The sea-water level has also risen in Marsascala, as can be seen in pictures below.
