A brilliant Beu who scored two further goals yesterday to bring his tally to an impressive fourteen goals so far this season, failed to save his side from their second defeat of the season. League leaders Lija are evidently struggling, gaining only one point in their last three matches, after gaining an impressive six-win run at the start of the season.

Naxxar had the last laugh yesterday to open the promotion race wide open, with the Lions showing they have all the credentials to give all their opponents a good run for their money, and also have a say in the promotion race.

Naxxar were more sharp in front of goal and took the chances that came their way, and this tilted the balance in their favour as Lija failed to capitalise on some scoring opportunities.
