Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said this afternoon that he will not speak about the investigation into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia because he had been accused of meddling when he did so.

Muscat was approached by reporters as he walked from his office in Castille to the Parliament building after leading a parliamentary group meeting where he asked for a vote of confidence.

A Labour Party statement said that the group unanimously supported the PM.

Last week, between Tuesday and Friday, Muscat spoke every day about the ongoing investigation, which included statements regarding the pledge to recommend a presidential pardon to a middleman who is ready to provide information on the assassination and then after the arrest of 17 Black owner Yorgen Fenech.

The Caruana Galizia family, in Friday, said the PM should keep away from the investigation, which should be free of political interference.
