The Prime Minister should leave office and properly be investigated along with Keith Schembri, for their possible involvement in the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, the slain journalist's sister, Corinne Vella, has told The Malta Independent

Vella had just exited the arraignment sitting of Yorgen Fenech, who was charged in connection with the murder.

Speaking with the Malta Independent, she said: "what we now expect is for the Prime Minister to leave office and Parliament, and to be properly investigated along with Keith Schembri for their possible involvement in Daphne's assassination."

She said that there is no outcome of the investigation yet, adding that thus far only "a person has been arraigned." There is much more that needs to be done, she said, adding that justice for Daphne Caruana Galizia means justice for everyone involved in her murder, "meaning every single person involved, and also justice with regard to all the people she exposed in her writings."

"With the suggestion that the Prime Minister's Office is implicated in the murder, two strands overlap. She had exposed Schembri and Mizzi's Panama companies. Had the Panama Papers been properly investigated, had those men been brought to justice, had Muscat left office when he should have, she would be alive and they would probably be in jail.

She would not comment on the charges as she only just heard them.
