Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has urged all Labour supporters to stay at home this evening, and not engage in demonstrations to show their support to him.

In a message on the Labour Party station, Muscat expressed his gratitude to the thousands of Labour supporters who turned up in Hamrun yesterday.

He said he appreciated their support but appealed to Labout supporters not to go to Hamrun or anywhere else tonight.

“We live in a democracy” and everyone has the right to voice an opinion, he said, referring to protests that have been taking place in Valletta these past few days following arrests in connection with the investigation into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

He told his supporters that there will be several occasions in which PL supporters will have the chance to meet him.

“On Sunday I will be in Naxxar, Zebbug and Paola”, he said.
