Zejtun Corinthians gave another dominant performance to keep pressure on leaders Lija and keep the top of the table in their sights.

Most of the match action was during the first half with Zejtun scoring all three goals. They took the lead on 15 minutes. A forging run of Roberio down the right flank into the box unsettled Fgura's defence, with Joshua Barbara unluckily deflecting the ball into his own net from close range, leaving goalkeeper Lydon Moore no chance. Robeiro missed an incredible opportunity on the half hour mark, hitting wide from close range after some good work by Jurgen Suda on the right wing. Barely a minute later however, Roberio made up for that miss, doubling the score for Zejtun after some good work by Jojo Ogunnupe from the left. Two minutes later, Roberio put his team 3-0 up, with again a wonderful assist by Ogunnupe, a similar goal as the second one.

In the second half Zejtun eased the pressure and Fgura found some space to make their presence felt, but it was too little too late against a clearly better outfit.

Lija Athletic consolidated their lead in the 1st Division thanks to an emphatic 4-2 win over Zebbug Rangers, a much deserved win for the team of coach Joseph Galea, their first win after three winless league matches, With Erjon Beu again on the mark with a hat trick to bring his tally to 17 goals.

In the 23rd minute, Zebbug were awarded a penalty after a hands ball by Andre White in the box of Lija. However, Bonnici saved the attempt of Randall Vella in style via the crossbar.

The match exploded in the second half. Lija took the lead in the 47th minute as Beu's cross-shot from near the corner flag completely surprised Grech. On 62 minutes, Seakanyeng hit the post after a wonderful individual effort in the box.

With 15 minutes to go, Lija doubled their lead. The Zebbug defence failed to clear the ball, with Seakanyeng passing to Cassar, who served Beu who scored the 2-0 easily into the empty net. In the 81st minute, Ryan Zammit fouled Seakanyeng in the box with the referee in charge awarding another penalty with Beu making no mistake from the spot. One minute later, Zebbug scored the 3-1 thanks to an opportunistic goal from substitute Ryan Cutajar, but Lija immediately restored their three-goal lead in the attack what followed, thanks to an angled shot from just outside the box by Aiden Galea. Zebbug had the last saying thanks to an added time goal by Nanapere, but the match was already played by then.

Naxxar Lions obtained their third successive win, beating bottom of the table side Vittoriosa Stars with a goal in each half. This win lifts Naxxar to top places of this division, as the Lions keep their fight for a return to the top flight of Maltese football.

It was not an easy ride for Naxxar against a highly motivated Vittoriosa side, who shared the exchanges for long stretches and could have also snatched a point with some luck.

Naxxar took a deserved lead on 23 minutes through Cerqueira Farias and five minutes Vittoriosa were very unlucky when a Dario Tabone effort hit both uprights before finishing in Omar Borg's waiting hands.

On the resumption both teams had several scoring chances but both goalkeeper stood out with some good saves. In stoppage time Naxxar sealed the issue with a second goal when Martin Leite served substitute Joel Ellul who lobbed over goalkeeper Moyano.
