Nationalist MP Karol Farrugia today filed a police report calling for an investigation into the creation of fake profiles on Facebook and Messenger which are using his name and photo.

Through these fake profiles, misleading messages are being sent to people regarding money donations and government jobs. Requests for personal information and payments were also made using his name, a PN statement said.

Aquilina is contending that these profiles were created to extort money from vulnerable people while at the same time giving him a bad name.

He said that these messages should be ignored.
